Nike SB Zoom Paul Rodriguez IV Hi “Street Fighter” Pack – Akuma
Expanding on the Nike SB ”Street Fighter” Pack is this Zoom Paul Rodriguez IV. Dunks were chosen to represent two of the OG characters, so it makes sense that this recent silhouette was designed after Akuma, who first appeared in the final Street Fighter arcade game. Navy canvas is used for the upper, as is a black leather Swoosh. A red kanji (?) that stands for “Sky/Heaven” (In a spritual sense) adorns the back of both shoes, as it does on Akuma’s fighting gear.
NIKE DUNK X CHERRY (WMNS)
Nike Sportswear collection with legendary French textile designer Paule Marrot Editions.nce loved by the British royal family and Jackie Kennedy, Paule Marrot Editions has been creating memorable designs since 1920. Nike Sportswear’s footwear designers integrated Paule Marrot’s 'Aurore' to inspire the 'Les Cerises' print draped two colorways in all-over prints of Cherries on the shoes for Summer 09. 'Les Cerises' is adapted from the original Paule Marrot design – Bigareaux – and is inspired by the cherries sitting in front of her when she met her husband-to-be. Paule Marrot’s textiles were heavily influenced by Marrot’s early studies as a painter under impressionists such as Pierre-August Renoir, Raoul Dufy and Maurice Denis. Accents of the designs show up throughout the rest of the Nike Sportswear Summer 09 Dunk collection as well, not just on the 'Skinny Dunks.' The Nike designer team have used inspiration to create the original Nike Dunk Lo’s in unisex styles as well.
